Gulf service companies build boats to meet expected demand

Daily rental rates for the boats that service oil and gas rigs and platforms in the Gulf of Mexico have hit a plateau after climbing sharply earlier this year, but the slowdown is unlikely to stem a surge of new construction expected to keep Gulf Coast shipyards busy through the next several years.
